Dr. Misha Petkevich, DPhil

Special Advisor

Misha Petkevich is an accomplished investor, executive, and Olympian with a distinguished career spanning the life sciences, investment banking, and the arts. He brings over three decades of leadership in financial services, corporate governance, and strategic advisory work, with a focus on growth-stage and innovation-driven industries.

Dr. Petkevich is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of V2M Capital LLC, a life sciences investment fund focused on companies developing breakthrough products that address critical unmet medical needs. In 2005, he co-founded BladeRock Capital LLC, V2M’s predecessor firm. Previously, he served as Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of The Petkevich Group LLC, a boutique merchant bank providing advisory and transactional services to emerging growth companies across the life sciences, information technology, and consumer sectors. Earlier in his career, he was Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking at Robertson Stephens & Co., where he served on the firm’s Management Committee, Commitment Committee, and Fairness Opinion Review Committee.

Dr. Petkevich began his career at Hambrecht & Quist as a biotechnology securities analyst and investment banker. He was recognized by Institutional Investor and worked closely with the firm’s Life Sciences Venture Group.

He earned a Doctorate in Cell Biology from Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar and holds an AB cum laude from Harvard College. Deeply engaged in the arts, he was a Fellow in the Music Department at Harvard and served as Composer-in-Residence at Eliot House.

A world-class athlete, Dr. Petkevich represented the United States in the 1968 and 1972 Winter Olympics. He was U.S. and North American Figure Skating Champion, a Gold Medalist at the World University Games, and recipient of the prestigious Button-Salchow Trophy. Following his amateur skating career, he served as a television commentator for NBC, CBS, and ESPN.

Dr. Petkevich currently serves as Executive Chair of XBL Inc. and Chair of HingBio Inc. His prior board service includes Advanced Bionics Corporation and Telios Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is President of the United States Figure Skating Foundation and has served on the Advisory Board of the Gladstone Institute, the Board of the San Francisco Opera, and the Foundation Board of UCSF.
